Xbox 360 Slim getting a US$199 version later this year.

For those interested in the new Xbox 360 Slim, you might want to hold off for a little while. It has been confirmed that later this year a version of the Xbox 360 Slim will hit stores for a price of US$199.

The current version has a 250GB HDD and built-in wireless. My bet is this new one will have a 120GB HDD and no built-in wireless. Only time will tell as we don't have any other news about it except the price and it will be in stores later this year.

Slim without wireless.. Only thing making me want to get this is that it's slightly smaller than the old one, but wireless included is a big+ for me.... I can use my gaming adaptor for something else...

Still might hold off a few months to see if this one drops in price.. besides, I always try to never get version1 of anything.. unless it's a collectable

P.S. How hard is it to transfer your profile to a new machine? is there a how to anywhere?

It's not like that's going to be a certain thing that it wont have wireless. Just guessing. Come to think of it, at the rate MS charges for HDD's i wouldn't be shocked if the only difference is the HDD size.

And to transfer your stuff. you have to use either that transfer kit they have (assuming it works with the newer ones) or a usb flash drive.

i'm happy with my elite for now, although i was surprised just how fast i filled the 250 gig HDD.

rather than M$ doing the stale 'slim' update that every console since the 80's has done mid-way thru it's cycle, why not design a decent fucking headset? one not made with 2 dollar shop earphones wires & components that constantly fuck up...

As far as i know they have always included HDMI cables with Elites haven't they?

Apparently the transfer kit does work with the new one. Geo, I know I have one somewhere....just gotta remember where though.

I returned my Elite for a replacement, and forgot to put the HDMI cable in lol

Unless it was a seond hand/preowned one i find that quite odd beause both elites i have bought over time have both had a HDMI cable come with them

I didn't get a hdmi cable with my elite, I think they may have stopped putting the hdmi cables in with the newer elites models/bundles

Nah that's can't be right, my Elite was replaced only last year and it had a HDMI in it.
One of the good things about Microsoft and the Xbox was they packaged a HDMI with the Elite - other consoles didn't do that.
(by consoles I mean the Ps3, since the Wii doesn't have HDMI at this present time lol)

I dont think I got a HDMI cable with my Elite, I got it from EB, MW2 edition on Boxing Day. Maybe the newer versions dont have it as standard?

Wow seems MS had a change of herat at some point and became tightasses and not included HDMI cables after a while in their elites......
