Xbox Ambassador Spotlight #25 - DarkArmada

Gamertag: DarkArmada

Story Behind Your Gamertag: Don't ask me why but when I got this tag (wow 6 years ago now!) I wanted something with "Dark" in it. After trying a mass of names, I went through my CD collection and one of my fav's is Groove Armada. MY GT was born.

Time as Xbox Ambassador: It's been a little over 2 years.

Most Knowledgeable Genre(s): I like to think I know a little about everything but my favourites would have to be RPG or Strategy games

Time Zone and Time when Online and on Forums on an average day? I'm in AEST (GMT +10) and I'm usually online at night over the weekend and on the forums during the week.

What was the main reason you had for becoming an Xbox Ambassador and how did you become aware of the program itself? At the time I was a regular member and for me it was the best way to get involved and try and make a difference on XBL. I found out about the program when TriXie announced sign ups for it waaaay back when.

What would you consider your 'specialty' area? I enjoy helping others through problems (Technical, forum related or the like) and community building. Xbox gamers make up an extremely diverse group of people around the world and growing that community is something I enjoy doing.

What would you consider is your greatest contribution to the Xbox Community?
Oh now here comes the ego questions Moderating Xbox.com is the obvious choice but beyond that it's been running events for gamers in Sydney to come and just have a ball with other Xbox.com'ers as well as running the community site The Game Vine. I don't know if it's considered "great" (I haven't cured Cancer... yet) but for me it's the most rewarding.

I'd say anything but voice, with our now 3 month old daughter around, I've learned verHow do you best recommend that other gamers contact you should they ever require help in the future? y quickly to enjoy playing Xbox with the volume way down!

How do you handle being asked a question you don't immediately have an answer to? That's a great question Mazda! Let me look into that for you and I'll shoot you a message when I have the answer. (Is my generic customer service answer with cheesy smile!)

What would you like to see done to further promote the Ambassador program to the wider Community on both a domestic and international scale?

In an ideal world, every time someone signed up to XBL they would be assigned their own Ambassador and have a link to message them directly from the dashboard. But in reality this just wouldn't be possible, so i think that we Ambassadors just need to make sure we're there for members to use and abuse us as necessary.

Have you ever been involved in an Ambassador Playdate? If so, how was your experience? Any tips you'd like to offer?
Unfortunately my poor location in a time zone almost opposite to the US/UK has meant it's been hard being able to make it to XA Playdates, however locally we've hosted Community Playdates and let me tell you, it's some of the best online gaming you'll ever have. If you get the chance to be part of an XA one... DO IT.

If you could provide any information on a specific genre or game, what would it be? (Do you have any personal tips you wish to share?) Just remember 2 things... up up down down left right left right b a start and IDDQD. You can't go wrong.
