Time as Xbox Ambassador: About a month(?).
Most Knowledgeable Genre(s):
I like to think of myself as a variety type of player. I give a lot of games a chance, even lesser known games that turn out to be quite fun. If I had to pick my most knowledgeable genres it would probably be Shooters and RPGs.
Time Zone and Time when Online and on Forums on an average day?
I am in Eastern Time Zone. I live in Rhode Island, USA. I am usually online on the Xbox randomly whenever I have free time between classes and work. I am on forums more often throughout the day randomly posting in various topics.
What was the main reason you had for becoming an Xbox Ambassador and how did you become aware of the program itself?
The main reasons I had for joining the program was based on my attitude to be helpful to others and more importantly based on the experiences I received as a rookie myself. When I was new to Xbox there were a lot of helpful people who guided me and made me feel welcomed. I wanted to repay that kindness to everyone I could and try to help the program to the best of my abilities. I became aware of the program by a post and tweet by an Xbox Moderator that the program was being refreshed and that DMZilla had opened up applications again.
What would you consider your 'specialty' area?
I consider my "specialty" area as helping people with questions about anything related to LIVE or the Xbox and its services in general. I try my best to answer any questions I know and to provide users with the time and effort that lets them know people out there and here to help with any problems.
What would you consider is your greatest contribution to the Xbox Community?
I think my greatest contribution is helping people on the forums in the "Help" sections such as Accounts and Billing, Marketplace, and Technical Issues. Of course, I don't know everything and I learn new solutions to problems every day to better expand my knowledge. With that being said, there are some people that help out users a lot more than I do in those forums and my hat goes off to them for all their hard work to help make this a great community!
How do you best recommend that other gamers contact you should they ever require help in the future?
Anything goes with me! Whatever is more convenient to the person is what's fine with me. I am usually pretty good with responding in a timely manner. The most common type of communications I receive are XBL text messages, but I do get a fair share of Forum Private Messages as well.
We've seen a recent influx of new Xbox Ambassadors admitted to the program. What would you like to see done to further promote the program to the wider Community on both a domestic and international scale?
As part of this new wave of ambassadors I think I can speak for a lot of people in the program that we just want to try and help the community to the best of our abilities. The reason I like Xbox so much is because of the friendships and great atmosphere that XBL and the forums provide to everyone. In the future, I would like to see more interaction with newcomers to LIVE such as playdates, Q&A sessions and the likes to help people out and provide some nice fun interaction.
If you could provide any information on a specific genre or game, what would it be?
My only tip for gaming is to do what you enjoy because you enjoy it and not because you feel you need to do it or see it as a chore. If you are not enjoying yourself anymore try and take breaks, cut back the game intake, and enjoy some other activities. Just do what you love, have fun, and be respectful online and I guarantee that the Xbox will provide you with many great times and even memories!
