Time as Xbox Ambassador:
I am actually one of the very first wave of Xbox Ambassadors from when it was first started back in 2006. My husband, Rayven Hunter and I were both accepted at the same time. I am such a dork I still have that acceptance email from TriXie dated Mon 3/27/06 2:25 PM, lol ...
Most Knowledgeable Genre(s):
RPG's such as Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fable, etc ... I do hold some knowledge about certain action, puzzle and first person shooter games, but I mainly love the RPG’s due to the ability to explore for hours on end. I am still exploring the world of Oblivion. My goal is to find everything there is to find in the game but I don’t think that is ever going to happen, lol …
Time Zone and Time when Online and on Forums on an average day?
Central Standard Time (CST). Honestly, it varies because it is all depends on my little man. He keeps me going non-stop! It’s almost as if he has a built in alarm the signals him if I get to close to my 360 or computer. So some days I can be on in the mornings and some days at midnight!
What was the main reason you had for becoming an Xbox Ambassador and how did you become aware of the program itself?
I wanted to be able to help out new gamers and create a fun, friendly atmosphere to play in without fear of being kicked from the game just because you were new to the game and were still learning how to work everything. A game where they can feel free to ask the question that will help them to play the game better and keep them playing instead of becoming frustrated and just stop playing the game altogether
I remember how many times I was booted or insulted just because I asked how to do a certain thing in a game. Heck once I was booted from G.R.A.W because I was winning, which is rare for me lol, and at the time I didn’t talk much because being a girl I would get insulted, etc… Well I got a head shot in and the guy I shot said a couple of times hey nice shot so I answered him thanks, next thing I know all I heard was there’s a girl in here, I ain’t losing to no girl then I was no longer in the game.
My Husband, Rayven Hunter, made me aware of the program as he was viewing the Xbox website and we both sent in emails and from there we both became Ambassadors.
What would you consider your 'specialty' area?
I am a very outgoing person so showing gamers around live would have to be my specialty area. I love the social aspect of it. I feel just by being friendly while explaining gamers around or just showing them how to use certain aspects of the dashboard or turn on or off certain features can help give them a bit more confidence to get on live to play more multiplayer games.
What would you consider is your greatest contribution to the Xbox Community?
Over a year ago I began helping write up gamer showcases for Unscripted360.com (Run by DeaconBlade360, Xbox MVP) which stopped for a while but I am slowly getting the gamer showcase ball rolling again. I feel this helps to show there is a bigger Xbox world out there beside on LIVE and that there are some great communities that have some really good information about upcoming Xbox games and helps them to find other gamers to share or get tips from and be able to participate in community events. Plus it’s fun, interesting and I love meeting new gamers from around the world.
I also like to help out on live and have slowly got back into helping out where I can in the Xbox forums.
How do you best recommend that other gamers contact you should they ever require help in the future?
Pm’ing me or Texting me would be the best way to get a hold of me for help. I am not very fond of the voice messages because most of the time when I get them it is so garbled that you can barely understand what is being said even if you turn up the volume and play it several times.
Also If sending a friend request please send a message. Here lately I have been getting random friend requests and when I message them or invite them to games there is no answer to my messages and they never seem to want to game. It’s as if all they want is to have me listed on their friends list
We've seen a recent influx of new Xbox Ambassadors admitted to the program. What would you like to see done to further promote the program to the wider Community on both a domestic and international scale?
I would have to say once the new Ambassadors get settled in a monthly Community Playdates with the Ambassadors would be great and once the list is back up on Xbox.com, maybe a small explanation of what would do. I know DMZilla is busy working hard behind the scenes for us Ambassadors and am sure he has some great things in store for the program.
If you could provide any information on a specific genre or game, what would it be?
Well I would say when it comes to RPG’s don’t just rush through them following the story line, etc for the achievements. Take the time to just adventure out and explore you never know what kind of weapons, armour, etc that you may find that will help you out later on down the road as you level up.
Take Oblivion for example, I picked it up when it was first released I got to the bridge leading out of Imperial City and was blown away by how amazing the graphics were, I couldn’t wait to get out and find the dungeons, monsters, ruins etc … just to see how good they looked too.
Remember to have fun with any game you play because gaming should never feel like a job or be taken so seriously that all the fun has been sucked out of it.
*Happy Gaming*
